Best steak in Melbourne
After reading some of the reviews listed here, I booked and was really looking forward to dinner here. Often this has led me to be disappointed as I go with high expectations.
It was all excellent. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was amazing.
We started with the meat platter to share. The waiter told us that they make everything there and it was delectable. Home made breads were offered and refilled without us having to ask.
I had the Ribeye steak (450g) which was well crusted in pepper and herbs, moist and tender like butter. The chips with the steak were so good, we ordered some more to share as everyone ate mine.
For dessert (I was quite full) we all shared a tasting plate of the home made ice creams. We got 7 different flavours, Bitter chocolate, halva, liquorice, apple sorbet, lychee sorbet, burnt caramel and Turkish coffee. We loved them so much, we took home a liter of the chocolate for the kids.
Overall, we had an amazing night. Excellent food and service. The steak was the best in Melbourne and it was cheaper than Rockpool and The Point.

Far from disappointed
My boyfriend and I went here, as we had heard the steak was great. We hadn't booked in advance and were initially told we couldn't get a seat, luckily someone cancelled just before we left and we scored seats in the middle of the restaurant.
For entree we had bread and dips - the best I have ever had. The bread was just delicious and fresh, best of all, when we ran out the waiter re-filled our plates free of charge. I had the pasta of the day - perfect portion size and extremely tasty without being overly-rich. My boyfriend had a steak with the special "monkey" sauce. He's not a big eater, but had devoured the plate in seconds, he really enjoyed it. For dessert, we were convinced by the waiter to try the halva ice cream, which neither of us had ever heard of before. With the fairy floss on top, turkish delight and strangely textured ice cream, it was definitely an experience...incredibly sweet. Enjoyed it, would recommend it, but wouldn't try it again.
Overall, great experience, it was an intimate but comfortably noisy atmosphere, food was great...you get what you paid for.

Best breakfast in Melbourne
Nearly missed the restaurant, hidden away in Glenhuntly Road - but what a find! Breakfast all day on the weekends, very civilised.
I had the "big brekkie", which included the best ever scrambled eggs, perfectly cooked, just set, fresh herbs on their own homemade sourdough bread (who makes their own any more?), cevapcici (skinless sausages), crispy bacon, black mushrooms and tomatoes! Heaven!
My husband had the club sandwich. Two layers of crisp lettuce, mayo, tomatoes, softly oozing fried egg, chicken breast and bacon all served with a mound of chips. Could have been shared, but I was lucky to even get a bite.
The kids shared the best pancakes, crisp outside, light and fluffy inside with berries and real maple syrup.
While we drank the creamiest latte using Gravity beans, the kids were given colouring sheets by the attentive and friendly waiter.
This has got to be the best breakfast in Melbourne, very reasonably priced and as yet, not well known. Get in quick and discover it before everyone else gets in first.
