This streetside cafe/bar sure knows how to mix some gourmet options into an otherwise standard menu. While focaccias, fish 'n' chips and salads all feature as lunchtime options, dishes such as a rich seafood linguine of prawns, mussels, calamari, fish, garlic, chilli and white wine add some restaurant quality options into the mix. For dinner, there's a tender kangaroo fillet served with onion rosti, sauteed spinach and raspberry; or a veal saltimbocca stuffed with boccocini, prosciutto and sage. Of course, Rubicon is also a bar, so diners can complement their meal with a range of finely melded cocktails.

Great night
I took a team of people from around the country from my organisation here on the last night of a week long training course.
Everyone commented on how good the food was particularly the wood fired pizzas - I had the seafood risotto and it was fantastic. The manager looked after us really well.
A really memorable night.

I booked a group of us to eat at Rubicon North Melbourne tonight about 10 days ago. I noticed on several websites that the restaurant allowed BYO wine which is nothing unusual. I reconfirmed the booking about 3 days ago and at the time enquired as to the cost of corkage and was told $6.50 per bottle. We arrived at the restaurant tonight and was promptly told "sorry no BYO tonight".

Best meal I've had in ages!
Just up the road from the comedy club decided to grab a bite to eat at Rubicon before the show.
I had the best salmon steak on mash EVER! The service was fantastic, friendly and efficient, the atmosphere very relaxing (beautiful evening on the outside tables).
The service was so quick we didnt have to rush to eat and still made it to the show with plenty of time. But this didn't effect the quality of the dish!
Will definitly be dining there again! Highly recommended.
