Roy's
One of the earlier venues trickling into the space opened by NSW's small bars legislation, Roy's has turned a tired fish 'n' chip shop into a funky and eclectic bar and tapas lounge. The makeover was done with a limited budget and a lot of know-how, but that only adds to the charm at Roy's. Couches near the front offer a perfect spot for people-watching, while the courtyard out the back is the definition of intimate-chic. The tapas on offer is simple, and blessedly so. The team at Roy's understand that tapas is designed to accompany the drink, not the other way round. The succinct options range from garlic prawns to grilled mushrooms or a light and fresh beetroot salad. Each one is simply presented and aching to be matched to the range of quaffable drops on offer.
