Admittedly, Lidcombe probably isn't the first place you'd think to find an awesome hotel like this one, but make the effort and reap the rewards: This art deco pub has one of the best pizza restaurants in Sydney and the beers are dirt cheap.
This venue buzzes of an evening and it's all due to the traditional woodfired pizzas flying out of the ovens at a breakneck pace. The aroma from the bistro is an intoxicating garland of garlic, herbs and freshly baked dough. The pizzas are wafer thin with house made tomato paste and generous amounts of fresh toppings.
There are options beyond the pizzas such as veal, pastas and the more traditional style pub fare, but ultimately, pizza rules the roost at this fine establishment and the west as a whole is better off for it. Highly recommended pizzas are the Rustica, Putanesca and Saporita.
