Away from the hullabaloo of crazy King Street, this authentic Australian pub offers a laidback and homely dining experience for the residents of this evolving inner-city community. Downstairs the bistro is open all day from noon till 11pm, but if you're looking to escape the lively bar atmosphere, head upstairs to the slightly more quiet restaurant area. Take note, if you plan to visit on a Tuesday make sure you book ahead as the 400g monster steak for $12 always generates a bit of a crowd. Another tip: no matter what you decide to order, make sure you leave room for their famous dessert, the 'chocolate slut'. Featured on an episode of Rove Live last year, it's a decadent dose of rich chocolate, not for the faint hearted.
