Housed in a building once home to a traditional fish 'n' chips shop, Robbie's Stein was heralded as the place for a modern take on this favourite when it opened its doors in 2007, serving more upmarket versions of the battered fillet for both dine in and takeaway crowds.
In recent times, however, the minds behind the menu have broadened their vision somewhat and settled for a tapas-style menu that reflects the feel of the restaurant. Long butchers block tables make it ideal for sharing plates with your companions, and seats at the bar mean getting the perfect drop to accompany each dish is not a problem.
The bulk of dishes make up the tapas menu, with everything from crab and herb croquettes with almond aioli to steaming bowls of duck and ginger dumplings on offer. Larger portions can be had with the grazing plates such as tea-smoked chicken with goat's fetta and pear.

Fantastic!!
Being a Brunswick local I was so excited to find this little tapas place on Sydney Rd. Every dish we tried was unique and most of all delicious. Highly recommend the Thai fish burger!

Classy cuisine
What a great mid-week surprise to discover this quirky bar/cafe/take away... Great decor and vibe, a fascinating and sophisticated menu, and the four dishes sampled by us were of a high standard with plenty of flair in both flavour and presentation! A menu worth exploring! i'll be back

Fish & Chips
I was pretty excited to discover a classy takeaway fish & chip this side of town. Unfortunately each visit turned out to be a bit of an anti-climax when I opened my bag and discovered 1) a different salad to my initial order, 2) aioli missing from my fried mushrooms, 3) soggy batter. I so wanted this to be my favourite local. Having said that, I have heard of better reviews when dining in and ordering off the a la carte menu.
