Pot Still

Like your Haggis? Well then, visit the Rob Roy Hotel and they'll serve you up a plate full, accompanied by mashed potato, caramelised apples, glazed baby turnips and carrots. Here the classic, homely fare has a Scottish influence, but be careful not to let the haggis distract you as there are plenty of other worthwhile options.

The open-plan restaurant can be made to feel cosy and intimate or spacious and airy for large groups or functions. Whether you're with your partner or in a noisy group, finish off your dining experience in the lounge area with a dram of whisky from their extensive selection.

Really good!
Never easy dining out on your own, (in town with work) and honestly never expected to travel however many thousands of miles from England to eat in a Scottish themed pub in 30 degrees of Adelaide heat but the not so positive experience of the previous nights meal had me strangely attracted to the place. Not that I m Scottish (actually more Irish) but any chef whose signature dish appears to be Haggis is either inspired or has a wicked sense of humour. So it s Pot Still or the takeaway noodle bar around the corner from the hotel.

Initial impressions pretty good, welcoming staff, nice tables outside what seems like a really nice neighbourhood. The lonely traveller then has the luxury of a bit of people watching without having to resort to the regulatory reading of the book you aren t really interested in but you cant just sit there can you?

Started with Scotch Eggs. Bit risky, nothing worse than Scotch eggs that have been been chilled and delivered to your table all cold a pasty. None of it, I d bet my last Aussie buck they were freshly cooked, yolk of the eggs nice and runny. Great start! Debated with the bartended over main course, steak or Haggis. Secretly wanted haggis as not read too many good reports about aussie beef. So haggis it was. Really, really good. Nice and moist: the absolute right amount of seasoning which is difficult because you need a lot of pepper and perfectly cooked mash and vegetables. All topped off with a nice dram of malt!

Beer also great, Coopers stout reminded me of younger carefree days drinking porter back home.

Seemed fairly quiet, is Wed a quite night in Adelaide? Come on you Adelaians get out and support this place if it wqs on my doorstep back home I would. Will definetly be back so hi to the guy in the corner on his own reading the book!

Well done Pot Still!

Their pizzas are awesome!
Who would have thought, a Scottish pub that does great pizzas!! But it's true. The pizzas here are as good as - if not better than you'll get anywhere else. Good topping combinations, fresh ingredients and it's not a bad pub either. I think word is getting out, because it was much busier than when I was last there!

Quiet - but decent food.
Dined on a Sunday night - Restaurant was closed so we dined in the front bar area. Was very quiet but food was excellent and so was service.

Scotch tasting plate and dips plate were shared for entrees and were excellent sized serves and tasted fantastic.

2 x Gnocchi, 1 x stew and 1 x chicken breast for mains - all tasted amazing and were very well presented.

Excellent value dining - will be back - maybe on a busier night and hopefully in the restaurant area.
