A quick glimpse at Rise Newtown Cafe may lead you to believe it's just a takeaway coffee and fresh bread spot, and for many, it is. But on second glance, you'll find a quiet resting spot inside this narrow little charmer. A couple of tables and chairs sit opposite the splendiferous sweet and savoury delights housed in the main cabinet, which include everything from pistachio and cranberry chocolate brownies to gluten-free Jaffa slices. It's no wonder Rise is a Newtown institution.
