Yet another addition to the ever-slick Smith Street, Rice Queen is a pan-Asian haven offering a range of exciting and spicy dishes. The decor is a relatively pared back affair, with formica tables and bamboo furniture creating a slightly kitsch vibe.
Dishes on offer include the Chinese classic of pippies in XO sauce accompanied by Chinese doughnuts, a great accoutrement for sopping up the unctuous and tangy sauce. From the subcontinent, a masala dosa filled with potato curry and accompanied by coconut chutney is sure to delight, as is a Sri Lankan vegetable curry served with cashews and sambal.
