True to its word, Ria offers authentic home-style Malaysian cooking. Embracing all the cultural influences that have been added to the Malay melting pot over the years, the menu is a tantalizing fusion of flavours from Malaysia, India, China and even Portugal. In fact, the vindaloo is a Portuguese recipe - more aromatic than the Indian version, with less chilli - and like the Portuguese baked fish, bizarrely, you won't find it in Portuguese restaurants. Many of the dishes have been passed on to chef Deborah Ting by her family, including her signature braised caramelised duck, lovingly entitled 'Mum's lok ak'. But she's also added a few of her own creative twists. Her satay is particularly good, and goes down exceedingly well with a beer from the extensive list.

Awesome!
Went on a Friday night without a booking but they managed to squeeze us in for an hour. Ordered the Loh Ak (Duck), a variety of meat dishes and roti. Food (the roti was not as crisp as I would have liked it) and staff was awesome and we were basically licking off the bowls.
Will visit again!

A gem
We have been here probably about 50 times over the past few years! It is an absolute favourite and it's high time I wrote a review! This restaurant is an absolute gem. The food is brilliant and the service very professional. (I LOVE how it is so clean and the waiting staff wear a nice little Malaysian style uniform - looks really smart.) This place represents real value for money. Great food at great prices. You can not go wrong!

Not your average asian...
Hard to get in (due to glowing critic's review perhaps?) but worth the wait if you like authentic, flavour-packed Malay cuisine. The seating is crowded and the atmosphere lively on the Thursday night my friends and I dined. I'll be back just to try the duck!

Yum!
This place is really popular (for good reason!) so book ahead.
The restaurant is nicely decorated, but the stream of people coming in to pick up takeaway orders means it is fairly casual.
Meals weren't cheap but weren't ridiculously expensive either, and the food was fantastic - amazing flavours, perfectly cooked, altogether really enjoyable.
