Absorbing some of the grandeur of its home in the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Restaurant Tasman is a classy, yet casual, dining spot bolstered by stunning harbour views and a high-quality modern Australian menu. Renowned as a distinctively Tasmanian experience, a visit to this fine dining haven in Hobart promises something different each season, inviting diners to explore locally sourced seasonal produce.
Succulent steak and seafood dishes are the prime attractions, including the seafood platter for two featuring salmon, oysters, prawns, crayfish and other local sea specials. Pairing these dishes with stellar Australian wines would be a wise way to truly embrace the tastes of the Tasman. For all-day nibbles, the Atrium should tantalise taste buds in preparation for Restaurant Tasman.

Alright, but the meals weren't fantastic
We had croquettes for entree which were nice but the raspberry sauce didn't really fit in. The bouillabaisse (seafood broth)was again strange flavours that didn't go together, the same with the local fish dish which had an apple and cucumber salad and pea and chervil sauce. Apart from being strange tastes together the food was good quality. The desert wasn't particularly nice either. The waitress wasn't particularly friendly or helpful. Overall it was an average experience and we wouldn't go back, but it ay be to someone else's liking.
