This Carlton North cafe-cum-restaurant, lying along famous Lygon Street, combines clean lines and stark white walls, and hanging blank canvases speckled around the seemingly vast room. The menu, under the guidance of David Stimson, offers a melange of fresh flavours.
Entrees may include a salad of red wine poached chicken or a vegetable tasting plate featuring a selection of fresh veges, from fennel to beetroot. Bright flavours are also evident in such main courses as blue-eye trevalla atop wilted iceberg lettuce with a chive and white wine sauce, or a simply roasted lamb rump with a pungent orange sauce. There's an amiable wine list too, with the majority of bottles on offer available by the glass as well.

Residential Restaurant
Lovely bright atmosphere, cheerful staff and tasty meals. The lamb dish was very flavoursome and the dessert was lovely. Would recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing meal away from the usual Lygon hussle and bussle. Plenty of good bakery bread and butter accompanied our meals. Great service, would recommend.

Brunch
Unfortunately not very good. The meal seemed to have been sitting under the heat lamps for about 10 mins. Bacon was chewey, mushrooms were overwhelmed by garlic and a steak knife would have been better for my toast. Eggs were fine. All was luke warm at best. Portions were also relatively small. Nice decor and staff were friendly but I will stick with my Rathdowne St fav's in future.
