This lively pub has long had a reputation as one of Tasmania's top spots for live music, with bands playing seven nights a week, but the bistro style meals are also well worth a look. Chef Richard Hensons has been given license to experiment, and the results are proving exceedingly popular. Perhaps in homage to the pub environment in which he finds himself, Hensons creates dishes such as bourbon-marinated chargrilled scotch fillet or oysters with a lemon and tequila vinaigrette. For teetotallers, there are non-alcoholic pub grub favourites, as well as some interesting mains that venture into 'gastro-pub' territory.
