Best breakfast 2005 - well that was 5 years ago.
Service - Great. Atmosphere - fun. Food - Average. The bruschetta was bland, the big breakfast was nice but nothing special, and the 'best brownie' was OK but it was the renowned hotcakes that were the let down. The pancakes themselves were akin to damper - but stickier and heavier. Too floury and not even sweet. The lemon curd was very weak and the berry sauce was bitter.

I had pretty high expectations of this restaurant, as it has been rated well on other foodie sites. But unfortunately the quality of the food has been declining in the recent months (as compared to when I first started frequenting the restaurant over a year ago)
I had the corn fritters which had far too much flour and too little corn for my liking. But coffee was great, as were the friendly staff.

Cosy breakfast
Had the lovely 'Replete breakfast' with a tall, satisfying glass of hot chocolate on a chilly Melbourne morning. Service was polite and prompt without being instrusive, and the place was warm and cosy. Perhaps could adapt the configuration of tables to make it easier for the wait staff to deliver meals to the tables, but it wasn't a big issue.
Take-home food looked delicious, but I was full to the brim after a big breakfast... brownies and scones looked very tempting indeed!
Will definitely return for more in the near future.
