The Balmain Bug

With a fresh lick of paint and some new blood in the kitchen, the Balmain Bug returned to the local dining scene in early 2011 to much fanfare. Located inside a rustic sandstone terrace built in 1856 in Balmain East, this eatery easily retains a warm, elegant and welcoming feel to it, and the space has been nicely refreshed. Chef Mark Proudfoot heads up the kitchen team as they create a modern Australian menu that is succinct, punchy and manages to walk that fine line between suburban comfort and culinary refinement.

Fantastic
Very friendly & helpful staff. We ordered the grain fed fillet & the duck. Both very good and cooked to perfection. Deserts - Sticky date pudding yum, and the ginger ice cream also good

I'll be Back
Very nice all-rounder.We arrived a little early so had a drink in the bar which was nice and cosy then off to the table. We ordered the balmain bug and the seared scallops for entree, outstanding! Then the grain fed fillet and the rack of lamb, both sensational, with the usual chips a veg. Now for desert, we had the Balmain Bug Platter, a little bit of everything, what can I say, first it was huge, second it was fantastic. Thank you Mark,
I'll be back.
ps: I just Love the Blood Orange Balsamic.
