Tucked away at the top of the Reggio Calabria Club is this much-vaunted, though curiously still-secret, home of great pasta and Italian-style seafood. The servings are enormous; great steaming platters of fettuccine marinara vie for room on the tables with casseroles and veal dishes. The cost of wine is just as eye-popping as the serving sizes: there's nothing better than club prices!

Just like dinner at home (not)
We arrived to the tune of the Neighbours theme blasting from the surround sound. Just lucky for us that there was a TV to watch the rest of the show before the food arrived. After asking the staff to turn the TV down or more preferably off, we looked at the menu. It has the usual pasta dishes none of which were very inspired or authentic. I had a fairly bland tomato based penne dish whereas my friend had veal with a cream sauce which was actually pink, yes pink. And surprisingly the pink veal was actually okay. As for me, I couldn't eat all my pasta as there was enough on the plate for all of Calabria to eat. Plus we were not told the specials of the day although the large table of Italians next to us was. So all in all, if you are after huge serves of bland food in a fluro lit environment, this is your kind of place.
