This dining room attached to the Convention Centre affords some of the best views of the Torrens River. The view is not the only attraction - add Regattas to the list of recommended breakfast spots in Adelaide. It's also a convenient cafe stopover for joggers and cyclists along the river - just look for the rust-coloured public art. The two-way duck is extremely popular. Duck breast is sealed and cooked to tenderness with a flash under the grill to crisp up the skin. A contrast to this freshly cooked flavour is a succulent duck-leg confit, beautifully accentuated with the sweetness of the fig port glaze. Matchsticks of carrot are butter-fried as a raft to support the duck leg from drowning in the creamed potato. The richness of the dish can be cut with a delicious Pike and Joyce Pinot Noir, or try the Skillogalee Riesling if red's not your thing. The breakfast menu is loaded with traditional favourites such as pikelets with summer berries and tropical fruit or scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.

Disappointing
I had booked a dinner for 2 on a Saturday night. While the atmosphere and setting were very good, and staff were very nice that does not make up for an overpriced meal which quite frankly was average in taste and probably the smallest portion size of any restaurant I have been too.For a entree' we had the Crocodile fillet, which came out as 4 postage stamp size pieces in a fried batter served on a show string of onion capsicum and string bean. It was a taste of things to come DISAPOINTING ! I had the "Deadliest Catch" main course which consisted of an Alaskan crab leg, and a Barramundi fillet. The crab leg was quite small for an Alaskan crab and the meat inside would have added up to about two teaspoons of meat which was quite taseless. The Barramundi fillet was little bigger than a packet of cigaretts with not much flavour and was nothing special. My wife had the "Coorong Beef rump steak" this was well cooked but again such a small portion that it would hardly satisfy a small child. It was service with rather crude chips and a baked tomato. Hardly anything special. At $42.00 for the seafood I had and $38.00 for my wifes steak it was really overpriced. We skipped dessert as we could see it was similarly over priced with miniscule portion size. We would not recommend this restaurant for the meals, unless you have had your stomach stappled and can only eat tablespoon size portions.

Disappointing lunch
This was my first lunchtime visit. As usual the service was friendly and attentive even though there were several large groups there. The lunch main course serves were small for the prices paid and I was glad that I had opted for the Regattas sandwich, which was a good size for the price.
