With a sunny courtyard at the back and some great breakfast options, this is a popular weekend spot, and after a coffee or two and a Redbox breaky followed by a bask in some vitamin D, you'll forget all about that hangover and be ready to embrace the day. Child friendly and dog friendly, this is a relaxed, unpretentious spot where you'll often see folks lingering over the paper after breakfast and sticking around for lunch. The lunch menu varies but could include lamb shanks, moussaka or calamari salad.

Relaxed & Easy
Did a bit of shopping last week up and down Sydney Rd so I popped in for a bit of brekky before I started. Music was great, plenty of papers to read and loads of space for family/friends to get together. Big courtyard out back which I saw you can book tables and play areas for the little ones. Was such a good atmosphere that I returned after shopping for a well earned coffee. Also prices were good - no more expensive than other cafes and has regular special offers.

Most expensive big breakfast ever.
So me and a mate were driving down sydney road looking for a place to eat after a big night and all we were after was a decent big breakfast. after looking at the menu we were thinking this was a bit of a laugh no big breakfast so i ordered the french toast which was fine and he got all the sides with poached eggs and it ended up with 2 drinks each coming to in excess of 60$ for a breakfast wouldnt be rushing back.

Perfect Sunday Brekky
Great signature breakfast and the onion chutney is a winner. Coffee was good and fast to appear on the table with plenty of papers to read. Friendly atmosphere and I couldn't have chosen better music. Also value for money servings!
Have dropped by for a takeaway now and again and highly recommend the BLT - its the best!

The chef had two attempts at our eggs benedict. The first was burnt to a crisp. The replacement was barely cooked, soggy and ultimately bland.
I've tasted better hollandaise that came out of a sachet.
The waitresses were apologetic, but there's only so much a sorry can do.
Steer clear (for breakfast, at least).

Not bad...
Red Box isn't bad, but it's not great either. Both times I have been there there have been some complaints. Overall though it's nice, menu isn't extensive but there are some interesting things and it can be on the pricey side. Service nice but nothing special - overall it's worth checking out.

Winner everytime
I have had the pleasure of eating at Red Box twice - once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both times I have had fantastic meals that were imaginative twists on the norm and very filling too. Reasonably priced and so yummy! As I live on the other side of town, I now intend to make this place my meeting point with friends from the north.

The food is just...
I'd been promising myself to pop in to this place for the last couple of months. Pass it everyday on the tram on my way to and from work in the city.
I'm a vegetarian and tried out the fettuccine with (homemade) pesto with a couple of generously sized slices of fresh bread. Absolutely delicious - the best pesto I've tasted to date. On this basis alone I'd recommend it!
Service was real friendly with big smiles - they got a tip.
