Beauty attracts beauty, and in the case of Ravesi's on Bondi Beach you'll find beautiful people gazing across the resplendent panoramic vistas of Sydney's most famous strip of sand and sea. But it's not just the summer months when Ravesi's turns up the heat, with its bottom-level fireplace and enclosed alfresco spot upstairs making for comfy respites in cooler climes.
Staying in synch with the seasons, executive chef Darren Elmes' menu features modern Australian and Mediterranean sensations including tapas plates, homemade pastas and fresh seafood delights. The sumac-crusted salmon grilled with goat's cheese mash and braised red cabbage delivers hearty flavours that warm up the coolest of palates.
A 250-gram filet mignon takes things to sweltering heights, wrapped in jamon and resting on a ragu of mushrooms in a port wine jus. A glass of Scotchman's Hill pinot noir perfectly augments a dish that is sure to have steak lovers groaning come the conclusion of their main course.
Kicking off the desserts is a delightfully winter-esque sticky date and pecan pudding given a dollop of caramel and bourbon ice cream. On the other hand, a baked white chocolate and coconut cheesecake tart may momentarily transport diners to the tropics, especially with the accompaniment of passionfruit sorbet. However, a cheese plate accompanied by lavosh and fresh fruit may prove enough to put travel plans on hold.
From a sandy summer stunner to a winter warmer, Ravesi's seasonal menu lends credence to the crowd who refuse to leave the Bondi beach locale come the colder months.

Best-tasting beer in Sydney
Ravesi's was the perfect location for an afternoon beverage. I don't know if it was the hard day I'd had at work or if it was something special the cellar man was doing, but the beer tasted extraordinarily good. And in addition to that I had a perfectly medium-rare steak from the snack menu. The staff were friendly while still maintaining fast and professional service. Overall they made it very easy for us to settle in and enjoy our evening in Bondi.
