Truly dreadful meal at the Rathdowne Tavern
I ate here with a group of friends for NYE and can honestly say it was the worst meal I have had in a long time. I'd read the menu and a few reviews and thought it would be a nice way to bring in the new year, but sadly we were very disappointed.
My pork belly was really tough, and the risotto that came with it was crunchy. Now I know that risotto is meant to be al dente - but crunchy, really?!
The other meals were pretty dismal as well. In addition to this, the service was not good. The restaurant was about half full, but the waitress was clearly very stressed and it showed! She threw my friend's meal down on the table so hard that half the food flew off the plate, and did not even apologise. All other food was delivered in a similar way, and we ended up going to the bar for drinks as it was quicker.
Really surprised that this has got good reviews in the past. I won't go back and I would recommend not to go!

Hope you're not in a rush
Just make sure you don't have to be anywhere in a hurry.
Went here for lunch and waited an hour for our entrees. Didn't get our mains until much later. The place wasn't even busy! No excuse really.
The waitress poured out our nice bottle of wine at another table! The food is ok but the service is truly dismal.
