Rathdowne Street Food Store is everything you always wanted a local restaurant to be, with that small-town diner feeling blended immaculately with urban edginess. The end product is an atmosphere that evokes Hemingway dining in Montmarte in the 1920s. Available here are the best eggs Benedict in town and a weekend brunch menu with delectable choices like savoury pancakes of roasted sweet potato, corn and coriander topped with guacamole, spicy salsa and a fried egg. Beyond breakfast, the menu includes fresh stews, homemade pies, pastas and grills. If you don't have time to eat in, just let them fix you up with something delicious to take away - perfect for faking kitchen prowess at home. The food store part of the enterprise includes a great selection of homemade preserves, pantry staples and hard to find ingredients on bucolic wooden shelves.

Food - super - service a little tweeking required
The food was just great. A wonderful variety for midday on a Saturday. The service from all staff was wonderful apart from one male waiter (supervisor I believe) who had the same warmth as the cold winter day outside! His introduction to ask for our selections was "What do you want?". A shame when everything else was faultless. Loved the complimentary bread!

Savoured every delicious moment
The food here was fantastic! It was so nice to take our time savouring the flavours and quietly enjoying the intimate and relaxed setting. Look forward to trying the rest of the menu in front of the open fire!

Delicious - very chic
The food was exquisite. Intense flavours and a beautifully romantic setting, very French. Service could have been friendlier, although was very attentive. Fantastic homemade ice-cream!

Not Great
We arrived at 10ish, the food did not arrive until 12.00. The food was good and fresh, the price was expensive. The hot chocolates are *always* luke-warm. Not child friendly.
