Takeaway not as good as eating in
I have always been a fan of Ramas and living nearby have dined there quite a number of times.

This time, I opted for takeaway to take to a friends house. I was left somewhat dissapointed.

I ordered the chicken korma which was kind of bland. The chicken was dry and extrememly dark meat. If I didn't know Ramas, I would swear it was rabbit.

I ordered at 1750hrs on a Sunday. They advised that the food would be ready in half and hour but it took 45mins.

I'll go again, as it was only one bad experience, but will only warily order takeaway again.

no fuss, no worries
I was taken here by friends who have been regulars for a while. The place is a little crazy with the buzz of wait staff, ordering, and the sounds of satisfied customers. There may not be much ceremony to the place, but it is honest food, cooked with passion, flavour & balance (& chilli). The service is friendly and personal (not morbidly polite - but genuinely welcoming). If you were to pay for what it is you got, the prices would double - so this place offers a bargain for splendid, spicy fare.

Good but not great
Good Fijian Indian food, but possibly Canberra's most overrated resuant. Service is good, very friendly, but at the end of the day after what everyone says I expected more, food was a little bland as well.

Great food
I had heard about this place a couple of times and being a fan of Indian I should have come here sooner. The staff here are lovely, very friendly without being in your face, and the food arrived in great time. The restaurant layout is very comfortable and a great place to catch up with friends without being too noisy. The food itself was fabulous and the menu offered numerous choices. My only recommendation: book ahead! I know I will definitely be back!

Amazing food - exceptional value
This is a fantastic restaurant! The menu is very comprehensive, with some traditional and not so traditional dishes. The choice of side dishes is great too, and I can't go past the lime pickle! Service is good, atmosphere is good, food is affordable, and they don't charge corkage! No wonder this place is packed almost every night!

Addicted - give me more!
Well I used to be free of Indian addiction. I wasn't a fan in the slightest. Tried to avoid eating it... until I was dragged into Rama's. It was a changing day! Every dish is full of flavour, the texture to die for, I just wish I had a bigger stomach! Meals are so affordable, perfect portions, and its on the table in moments. I cant get enough of it!

My all time favourite Indian restaurant
I have been going to Rama's since I was a teenager and for the past 16 years it has been my all time favourite Indian restaurant. The food is always consistently delicious and the service efficient, especially by the owner who has exceptional customer service.
The atmosphere is cosy and casual, I love these bustling local shops restaurants - there should be more of them in Canberra.

Consistently the best
The hostess always remembers who we are, even though we have only been 3 or 4 times with many months between visits. She allows flexibility with meal/banquets selections and provides great advice on meal selections. I can never be in the bad books with my partner whilst Rama's serves the chicken korma!!! They also catered for our 2 boys (2 & 3 years) so well that we had the misguided conception it would be this easy at all restaurants.

The best Fijian Indian outside of Fiji
Tucked quietly away in Pearce, this place is always popular and in summertime it gets extremely busy with tables extending into the front area of the Pearce shops. So advice is to book ahead.

The food is brilliant. Beautiful velvety sauces on most dishes and the Roti parcel is always a favourite starter.

Service is exceptional. The owner works the tables, which you don't see too often at most restaurants, and is always very friendly.

Takeaway is just as good and always enters my mind when I'm looking for Indian takeaway.

If you want the best Fijian Indian outside of Fiji with reasonable prices, excellent service and food to die for, then look no further than here.

Simply the best
Certainly the best Indian food I have had in Canberra (and I have lived here for more than 30 years). Wonderful selection of vegetarians and the service is lovely. You won't be disappointed.
