Raj on Taj


One of Adelaide's finest and best-loved Indian restaurants, Raj on Taj is quietly expanding to take over the world. Well, not quite, but the growing empire now includes the Unley and King William Road originals and an offshoot at Victor Harbor. Understandably, Adelaide folk have embraced the authentic, aromatic Indian on offer at each with open arms, though the warm, relaxed decor and vibe and reasonable prices (including for BYO wine) sure do make it easy to love.

The lamb spinach is a specialty and pretty hard to pass up, as are the butter chicken and chicken Madras. The malai kofta (cottage cheese dumplings in an almond makhani sauce) and the navratan korma (mixed vegetables tossed in butter and cooked in a cashew nut sauce) are popular with vegetarians, who are spoilt for choice at this warm, welcoming restaurant.
