Like taking a step back into the late 19th century, the Railway Hotel experience is an old-time country town relic that's still keeping the regulars and first-timers well-nourished and amply hydrated. The undercover outdoor patio area is an especially relaxing spot to enjoy an ice-cold beer accompanied by one of the chef's gourmet creations. Above the normal pub fare, this Castlemaine hotel's food varies from an eggplant burger and roast kangaroo loin and to that old favourite, lambs fry with bacon, mash, peas and more. There are also some mighty steaks and a couple of gluten-free and vegetarian bites.
