Raaga, Newmarket's latest Indian restaurant, offers both an a la carte menu as well as a buffet, the latter of which is well-loved by locals who count this spicy, tangy and fragrant cuisine among their favourites. With many menu items scoring at the higher end of the chilli spectrum, patrons who enjoy a little mouth-numbing heat will be right at home.
The decor is a pared back offering, with Indian trinkets covering the walls and plastic tablecloths on the tables. The emphasis here is squarely on the food. This is a good thing, as staple dishes such as butter chicken and kholapuri beef are sure to please diners with their nod to authenticity. While there is no wine list on offer, Raaga is BYO, offering a great excuse to bring something from the cellar or the local bottle shop.
