Built in 1838, the Queen's Head has retained all of its original appeal, without falling into dingy disrepair. The dining room in particular reflects a timeless elegance. Dark timber dominates, lightened by the crisp linen, the high, steepled ceiling and a feature wall of swirly modern wallpaper. The menu is designed to suit the posh surrounds, yet regular pub diners should not be deterred. While pub staples such as bangers and mash are conspicuously absent, the menu holds exciting new additions such as the roasted rack of lamb with braised shank en crepinette and cassoulet of winter beans.
