This friendly addition to Collins Street has quickly found a market for its fresh, accessible and downright quirky Japanese. Far from the usual California rolls or teriyaki sitting in a bain marie, the menu here is full of contemporary fusion food like a brilliant prawn soba salad and a prawn burger that regulars swear by, which comes with a deep-fried tofu patty, fresh prawns, greens and Japanese mayo (on a Turkish bun). There's plenty on offer for the vegetarians too, and though it can get busy with city workers crowding in here around lunchtime, there's usually a bit of space to be found inside this cute, fun and light-hearted eatery.
