Mediocre
Have been here twice now, this time in a group. Food is very average. I have certainly had better palak paneer elsewhere, it was simply tasteless. The lamb masala was excellent. Finding the fish in the fish masala was like groping for water in a deep well. Anyone who has had proper onion bhajji will agree that it is not simply supposed to be an onion fritter. It did, however, taste alright. The seekh kebab was the icing on the cake: it did not come out on a skewer as promised on the menu, it was sliced into little slivers. We were seated upstairs and it was waaay too cold with the A/C blasting cold air straight onto the table. It was also very noisy. I had difficulty hearing anyone beyond the person sitting next to me. The service, although a little shoddy and haphazard, is fast. The prices are comparable to other similar restaurants.
Overall, it wasn't horrible, but nothing worth returning to.

Not Bad
It was a Thursday team lunch with the guys from work so everything was pre-ordered. Expected everything to go smoothly and it pretty much did.

I had a lamb vindaloo with garlic naan, both of which were very good. The vindaloo had all the correct spices in the correct quantities and was appropriately hot (not as hot as I would have liked, but a solid heat that would appeal to most sensitised palates), and the lamb was very tender and only one inedible grisly piece, and the naan had plenty of garlic, but was probably a little on the dry side. This was compensated for however, by plenty of vindaloo curry sauce.

Overall, very good, but a tad pricey: $19.50 for the curry including rice, and $4.20 for the naan. Additionally the range of beers is very limited, and if you like full-strength beers but don't like Hahn Premium (at $6 a throw), you're pretty much knackered. Recommend exercising the BYO option.

hummmmmmmm!!!!
The best Indian meal ever: Chicken Makhini at Punjabi Palace. Had it 19 times in 19 days. And the naan is the best bread ever.

Not Impressed
Our family visited the Punjabi Palace on Monday to celebrate our daughter's 15th birthday. It was our first visit and will be our last. The service was ordinary, the staff were arrogant and the curries were average. I was suprised to see sweet chilli sauce out of the bottle as a dipping sauce to accompany our samosas. We asked for a larger table because the small round table was too small for the four of us and were refused. As I was bumped each time the waitress served the table behind us I watched the larger table we requested go unused for the entire evening.

The lamb korma is mouth-watering. Every time we come to Brisbane from Melbourne, we always visit and order the korma and the butter chicken. Can't wait for the next visit.
