Pranzo is a stylish, modern bistro, with a simple yet striking decor; white walls are a stark contrast with the dark floors and furniture. Located in Adelaide's old finance sector of the CBD, near the former stock exchange building, this is a great location and the owners have used this to their advantage. Huge sliding doors at the front give a real open plan feel to the restaurant; stylish tables carry it out onto the street which only adds to the feel of the place. Although very modern feeling - there's no escaping the traditional Italian influences such as chalky blackboards displaying the specials. White shirts, neck ties and black aprons adorn the extremely efficient, fast paced waiting staff.
Pranzo offers real Italian cuisine from 7am daily. Breakfast consists of a number of choices, from poached, scrambled or fried eggs, through such favourites as bircher muesli or ricotta hotcakes with poached berries, double cream and maple syrup. Their lunch menu has even more choice with a large number of entrees, pasta, risotto, pizza and great mains, such as grain-fed aged T-bone served on roasted spring vegetables, perfect for those who prefer a larger lunch. The wine list has over 55 choices with many are available by the glass; a good selection of beers is also available.
