Built in 1868, the Port Phillip Savings Bank has been transformed by owners Andrew and Shane Clancey into an elegant restaurant. A favourite with locals, Portofino on Bank rarely has a table to spare, so it's wise to book ahead. The restaurant offers Mediterranean and Middle Eastern-inspired dishes, made predominantly from local western Victorian ingredients, and an award-winning wine list to match.

A Two-Hat Restaurant
Had heard so much good things about this quaint fine-dining restaurant in the quiet town of Port Fairy. The entree was outstanding: tiger prawns wrapped in shredded pastry served on couscous. Absolutely the highlight of the sitting. However, the 3-way duck was unique and really satisfied but the duck itself probably lacked the kind of taste that really brings itself to attention.
The service began with an impressive display of informative and kind assistance. However, as the night went on, different waitresses attended to us but with limited knowledge of what was on offer on the menu. The service died off after dessert was eaten, as we weren't offered a coffee.
That said, I was very impressed. A two-hat restaurant with plenty on offer for the wine lovers or even for the humble diner. Two thumbs up!
