With its menu of flavoursome dishes, this laidback Greek restaurant has an authentic taverna feel. You'd swear you'd been transported to the Greek Isles, if it weren't for the fact that the Platia chefs use less oil and fat than traditional Greek cooking. The relaxed atmosphere here attracts all types through its doors to indulge in chargrilled octopus and herb-crusted lamb.

Totally Terrible.
What a terrible experience our 'Mothers Day' 2012 lunch turned out to be. Poorly decorated environment. Loud and dingy. We were sat down, no welcome, no happy mothers day, nothing. The dips were hopeless. The 'darama' was watery, the ';tzaziki' was even more so. The 'spanakopita' dripped oil and was left on all our plates, it was unedible. The 'keftedes' - greek hamburgers - I've had a better meat-patties at McDonalds. The 'dolmades' came from a tin. If I wanted canned food, I'd have gone to one of the Greek wholesales (Gaganis Bros or Omega Foods). I can go on and on. Suffice to say, the worst was yet to come. Having had enough of this amateur establishment, I wanted out: just leave the food and that place and go somewhere that was warm and inviting and try to enjoy what was left of Mothers Day. However, the kids thought they'd take the main-course platters that hadn't been touched home. What a mistake. They staff argued. Yes argued, that they couldn't and wouldn't do it. After a lengthy debate, all this at $45.00 per head x 5 on Mother's Day, they relented and gave us the untouched food to go in two aluminium containers, that in their own hand writing they wrote: "PET FOOD ONLY, 13 May 2012". How apt a description which summarised this establishment perfectly... "PET FOOD ONLY". Go at your peril.
