There comes a time when every chef decides to test the waters and open their own restaurant. Pistachio Dining at Torrens is the first solo venture of chef David Keeley, formerly of the famed Sabayon. With a commitment to local and fresh produce, Keeley offers diners simply constructed modern Australian dishes which, despite their simple constructs, are sure to have diners' palates enamoured with their depth of flavour.
On offer are dishes such as organic chicken pate with toasted ciabatta and caramelised onions, while mains include lamb rump with kipfler potatoes, pea puree, glazed carrots and rosemary sauce. For dessert the sticky date pudding with honeycomb ice cream and fudge sauce is a wickedly delightful conclusion to the meal.

Ohh, so good!
I had the tasting plate of entrees which included scallops with parsnip puree and prosciutto chips, a game terrine and a pork shoulder galette. Every single element was fantastic. I can't decide what I will have when I go back.
For mains I had the prawn canneloni. OMFG, I could have eaten so many serves. It was so tender and the flavour was exquisite. The rest of the table had the veal cutlet which was also really good.
Dessert - YUM! Had the peanut mousse with peanut brittle and icecream. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
As for service, it was pretty good. I just didn't like continually being called ladies by the waiter who also then went on to explain how pissed they were going to get after work. Pick your audience buddy.
Anyway, food was top notch. I'll go back!

Delicious
I started with the pate and my partner completely enjoyed her tasting plate. For mains I had the beef with mustard crust; cooked perfectly - melt in the mouth stuff. Whilst my partner had the salmon which was also perfectly cooked. To finish we shared the dessert tasting plate - delicious and well presented.
Service was friendly but not intrusive. A wonderful experience all round and it's great to see a restaurant supporting local wines. I'll be returning.
