Pink Salt


Avid viewers of My Restaurant Rules will recognise both the name of this venue and the faces of owners Bella Serventi and Evan Hansimikali; the budding restaurateurs have revived their venture, post-show, in sophisticated Double Bay. Kitted out in various shades of pink, from the multi-hued geometric-print wall to the luminous blush of the signage, Pink Salt is an acutely girly restaurant. Femininity is evident in every delicate feature, from the scattered cushions to the flowers on the tables.

Despite the candy-floss shades, there is plenty to attract your average bloke. Chef Tim Fisher heads up the kitchen, providing a fine-dining menu of contemporary cuisine at night. However, he has also shaken up the formula by introducing a more casual bistro-style lunch menu. Lunchtimes see the starched linen whipped off the tables and a procession of simple, classic dishes march out of the kitchen. Dishes oscillate from the decadent seared scallops with blue swimmer crab-stuffed calamari and Champagne foam; to a hearty Sunday roast. Pink Salt also sports a lavish bar space, where Double Bay's glitzy and glamorous set can nibble on tempura zucchini flowers while sipping a range of fruity (and largely pink) cocktails.

Expensive, but what comes cheap in "Double Pay?!"

All i have to say is, you can sprinkle a little Pink Salt on me anytime!

Good fun
Went for dinner with three friends on a Thursday night, didn't even know this restaurant had been open for a year in Double Bay. It's a big space, but the fit out still gives the place an atmosphere. The food was really tasty, and the service was good for Sydney - we know how bad Sydney service can be. Had a great time and will definitely be going back for the fillet and chocolate dessert.
