Within the walls of the historic Espie Dods House, this one-of-a-kind venue is a casual port of call for Brisbanites out to drink, dine and unwind. At the centre of it all stands a rather impressive glossy candy-pink grand piano, where guests may pull up a wooden chair and sip the evening away to a soundtrack of smooth lounge sounds. The brekkie menu is extensive with most options in the single digit price range, such as the brioche with ham, asparagus and rocket or the three egg omelette with smoked salmon, avocado and orange olive oil. There is a thoughtful wine list and a limited but sophisticated selection of share dishes, including the fried zucchini fritters with hazelnuts and champagne sabayon, or the salt and pepper calamari with chilli mayo and burnt lemon. Mains are well priced and include vegetarian options.
