Will be back
Ate here about 7 o'clock on a Friday night, wasn't too busy, service was ok, but the food was sublime, I had the duck breast which was absolutely superb, skin was wonderfully rendered and crispy and flesh was nice and pink, wife had the fish, whick was snapper today, and she said it was beautiful and moist, and the skin was nice and crisp. Didn't have desserts, but will be back to try. One of the better little restaurants we have been to in a long time. Thanks

Expensive but can be great food
We like this restaurant and have been three times. It is quite expensive for a family and you can expect to pay $300-$450 for a family of five, which is a lot for a suburban shopping strip setting. The menu seems to change frequently which can be a pity, as they had extraordinary salty/citrus steak which was quite unique and simply a great dish, but the second time we tried it it was bland, and the next time gone from the menu. Sometimes the vegetables are very good, other times an afterthought. They have an unusual Persian fairy floss dessert that kids love, but otherwise the desserts are nothing unusual. Maybe somebody slipped with the flavourings the first night we went, but it was some of the best food we have ever had, and we have kept going back in the hope it will be repeated.

The name is misleading - not value at all.
Having dined out in many Brisbane restaurants recently I would not recommend this restaurant. The mains are overpiced at $36 and are not accompanied by anything of substance. Therefore you have to pay $10 for vegetables as well. For the same money I can eat in the best restaurant in Brisbane. We didn't even get offered bread. The Italian name is misleading. I will never eat here again as there are other restaurants in the Ascot and Hendra area of substancially better quality in terms of food and value.
