Pho Xua

My family and I decided to try Pho Xua for the second time. The standard hasn't changed and in a word - disappointing. The restaurant was less than a quarter full on a weekend.

The ambience is nice. The decor and lighting are aesthetically pleasing but this is as far as it goes.

The service is terrible. The waitress didn't know the dishes on the menu. We had to resort to pointing to the menu to indicate which dish we wanted. Then when we asked for a description for the dish, she was unable to give one.

When the food arrived, it was greasy, oily and the serving size small - even for an Asian restaurant. Noodles are not an expensive ingredient, so we expected better. We also waited more than 30 minutes for our meal.

I will stick ot the less 'fancy' Vietnamese restaurants in Perth that provide better food, service and value for money.

A superb find, high quality classical Vietnamese food at reasonable prices. Don't come here for pho but if you like fresh food, (no MSG used) with superb taste this is for you.
Chef and owner Daniel is a delight, producing a frequently changing variety of specials. The seafood dishes are always superb. The service is very friendly and they always do their best but times are run off their feet. A great atmosphere, space, fresh flowers and antiques everywhere (don't miss the collection of teapots). BYO OK. Booking is essential especially at weekends when the place is packed. The locals just flock to this place!
