With the seemingly endless supply of mediocre restaurants that opened when the Thai food craze first hit, it's nice to see one that stands out for its quality and value.
From the same chef of the hugely successful Royal Orchid in Port Melbourne, Peppercorn is a welcome addition to the Greensborough dining scene. Its understated decor provides a welcoming dining area that is traditional without being kitsch.
The menu boasts a host of dishes, all prepared fresh in-house everyday; however, if the depth of the menu proves intimidating, stick with the chef's specials and you can't go wrong, particularly with the crying tiger - marinated beef served with a spicy and sour chilli and tamarind sauce.
