Housed within the Grove Sports Club, this welcoming eatery epitomises bistro dining at its best. Expect warm, friendly service and wallet-friendly prices both in ample supply.
The menu at Pepper Mill sticks fairly close to the playbook of tried and tested classics, from chicken parma to surf 'n' turf, while making a few forays into more modern dishes for those so inclined. The wild mushroom risotto is a highlight from the menu and a great way to warm the bones on a chilly winter night.

Top class food
Arrived without a reservation at 7pm, the Bistro is located inside the Ferny Grove Bowls Club, decor is what you'd expect from a bowls club. Greeted by a friendly waiter, he seated us & explained tonites specials & expanded on a few of the menu choices. The menu covers most bases ( 2-3 options for chicken, pork, lamb, beef, seafood, vege). We ordered: salt & pepper squid entree (freshly prepped & very good); chicken breast (stuffed with prawns, feta & sundried tomatoes w/ ginger sauce) oven roasted to perfection, still moist, lime/ginger sauce & tomato added some great zing; & a Pork Loin marinated in Cider & star anise, again cooked to a tee, moist, melt in your mouth, star anise very subtle, sauce very nice. Shared the Dessert of the day:individual lemon meringue pie: perfect mix tart & sweet. Prices were low, same at the bar, service friendly but professional & well informed about the food, decor/furnishings is dated, although the well positioned kids room does keep the kids out of the restaurant. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys great food at relatively low price.
