Plenty of waterfront views can be had in the city of Melbourne, but how about turning the tables and finding a restaurant that offers views of not only the water but of the city itself. Travel down the Yarra to where it meets the sea and you'll arrive in historic Williamstown, home to Pelicans Landing restaurant. The romantic location means it's in high demand for weddings and events, but the restaurant and bar provides an intimate escape from the buzz of the city on any occasion.
As you'd expect from a waterfront restaurant, seafood features prominently on the menu, popping up in the entree in the form of Spring Bay mussels with chorizo, chilli, tomato and chickpeas, or as a more substantial main such as seafood pilaf - an ensemble of pan-fried seafood with tomatoes, roasted capsicum and goat's cheese served with rice.
