The Entrance is one of the most well-known towns on the NSW Central Coast, popular not only for its proximity to Sydney and Newcastle but for its great expanses of prime waterfront real estate. As the name suggests, it's where the Tasman Sea makes an entrance into the waters of Tuggerah Lake. At the base of the bridge that spans these mingling stretches of water sits Fisherman's Wharf, a sprawling, three-storey venue that makes the most of the location, offering water views from every table.
Locals and day-trippers will find comfort in the casual atmosphere of Pelican's Coffee. Here, you can get a piece of the million-dollar view for the price of a cup of coffee (which they claim is the best in town). Pelican's opens early for the breakfast crowd, but later arrivals can enjoy light meals and snacks throughout the day, including wraps, hamburgers and takeaway seafood. Those with children should stop by between 4 and 5pm for ice-cream cones during Kids Happy Hour.
