Peasant

Sharing food is a primal human experience, one that is brought out in the tapas and share plate style at places like Peasant. Ensconced in the Barracks, Peasant piques the interest of anyone looking to bond over the foreign flavours of Spanish cuisine. Take the pan-fried chorizo with mojo verde (a herbed dipping sauce); the piquillo peppers stuffed with vegetable paella and olives; or the chocolate-dipped churros, for example. There's plenty of culinary exploration to be had here, in tandem with exciting wine pursuits too.

A MA ZING!
I dined at Peasant a couple months ago now but am still blown away by my experience. The food was delicious and the sangria is out of this world! The intimate surroundings and the atmosphere makes for a great first date or for any occasion really. it was great. i will definitely be back again and again and am recommending to all my friends! it is a must do in Brisbane!

Fantastic service and great food & wine
Absolutely thrilled to find Peasant! Even though they were fully booked we felt more than welcome to perch at the end of the bar. The wine waiter was knowledgeable, personable and helpful. He offered a taster of each of the wines available by the glass so that I could make my choice from a good selection of interestingly labelled wines. The menu had more than enough choices to make our mouths water, and our selections came out of the kitchen with just the right gap between each of them. Warmed olives are always yummy, the chicken livers were served with a fantastic light and flavoursome chorizo, and the beef cheeks just melted in the mouth. All the staff were amazingly friendly. We will definitely be back!
