The team at Pearl have obviously made a pact not to let any customer leave their premises unsatisfied. From the moment you walk in the door, you can see style, attention to detail and a warm ambience. Pearl's adventures in mod-Oz feature more than a few unusual combinations. Although some may be struck by the heavy-handed sense of its own style, others will find it as unique as finding an oyster with, well, a pearl.

Gourmet Traveller Feature Review - "It’s been nearly 10 years but Pearl has lost none of its lustre, writes Michael Harden. In fact, it’s looking sleeker, shinier and sexier than ever."

Not worth the money
Whole expereince was underwhelming. Main meals took over 40 mins to come out, and the dish I had (Ricotta tortilli) was so bland. I admit desert was good, and my partner liked his meal ok, but for the money go elsewhere.

Great food and great service
I was highly impressed with Pearl. 4 of us went for dinner on Saturday night. 2 had the garfish for starters (and won that dish)... i had the tofu eggplant dish very delicate flavours and interesting...all starters were good. I had the Tuna for mains and thought it was just devine (i won that one)!! Although the duck was a close second. The cheese platter and all the desserts that we passed around the table were also all winers! The 1 small thing that was a bit disappointing is that we booked in on Wednesday and they only just squeezed us in.. so we couldn't get a table till 8.30-9pm but we're not seated till 9.30- 10pm but this was handled very well as we were given nibbles to tide us over and some add ons to the main meals were free. All in all very good!

Disappointing
I was really excited going to Pearl for a wonderful dinner with some friends from overseas, but came out disappointed with the food quality.
We've got our waiter to recommend their signature dish for Entree, Main and dessert. Although I must say the entree was off to a good start eventhough they were small in portion, the main... especially their specialty curry duck, was far too salty. The duck was overcooked, and taste like they were marinated with a tonne of sea salt! It appears to me that 90% of their dish as coconut in it?!
Good thing about the night is the service. The waiters were excellent! Although we did see one of them accidentally dropped a water bottle and spilled all over another patron.

Pricy for what you get at Pearl
We were quite disappointed with Pearl - having heard wonderful things. Overall I think it was very overpriced. The world famous duck curry was a novel and interesting idea but there wasn't much duck - was still hungry!
The entrees were the lovely and dessert just ok. Would expect more for a 2 hat resturant. Don't think i would go back!

Woeful
Very disappointing. Meals came out cold and when requested if they could be "warmed" an $85 steak which was meant to be medium was crucified. No apology was given. Service was non-existence.

Terrible service
After expecting great things my partner and I were very disappointed with Pearl. We had been recommended it by a fellow foodie and experienced terrible service. This is unacceptable with a large price tag attached, as the service is usually in part what you are paying for. The food was only ok which was a big surprise for a double hatted restaurant.

Wonderful
If you're celebrating or just want to have that special restaurant experience, try Pearl. Genuinely interesting and well-executed food in perfect surrounds - both silver-service excellence but funky and modern.

Great dining experience!
We recently had a meal at Pearl - what a trendy place to dine! We felt very special and were looked after very, very well. We will definitely be heading back to Pearl, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Pearl's got it right about fusion
Fusion food with a brain... not just lemongrass, coriander, lime juice etc. Waiters can definitely afford to be less pretentious. Nice, simple-looking restaurant.
