Set on the promenade, right on Maroubra beach, the Pavilion cafe opens up to the bright sunshine and sea breeze and, if the weather turns, it becomes fully enclosed to keep you sheltered and secure. Serving breakfast all day - and a selection of cafe favourites - the menu changes seasonally, letting the chef take advantage of the best produce available. Whether you want a light lunch of fresh baked baguette with grilled chorizo, sweet potato, goat curd and roast tomato or a more substantial meal of crispy-skinned Atlantic salmon with ginger bok choy and honey oyster sauce, the folk at the Pavilion invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy the view.

Hopeless High Tea
I was with a party of 6. We arrived at 3 pm by which time they had run out of strawberries and orange juice. While our pre booked high tea plates were being prepared we ordered champagne. When the high tea plates arrived we noticed the tea was not served. When we enquirer we were informed that was not on the menu and would cost extra! I have never before been served a High Tea without tea! The scone was dre, the cupcake ordinary, the chocolate for the strawberries (which ended up being substituted with marshmallows) was not the promised melted Belgian but some mixture with what had the taste and grainy texture of icing sugar. Overall very disappointing

Massive serves
Went here because my usual brekkie place was packed but was pleasantly surprised. The servings were huge. Ordered the vege breakfast and the better half ordered banana bread - both got thumbs up. Coffee was quality and required a second cup. Add the view of the beach to the food and this is a place that I will be back to!
