Paupiettes

Loved by Lismore locals and frequent visitors, this a la carte dining experience is one to be remembered, with its fusion of modern Australian and French flavours and traditions. Formerly a more modest affair, Paupiettes has since been spruced up by new management in 2009, displaying artworks amid warm colours and a more intimate, dim-lit environment. Owner and chef David Forster crafts a diverse menu featuring the popular duck confit, slow-roasted pork belly and twice-baked cheese souffle, always nicely complemented by a glass of white or a cup of coffee.

Great food
we have been to Paupiettes on a regular basis over the years. The food is superb and is a real treat for a night out. The service is always fabulous but I have to agree the decor hasnt changed in all the years we have been going there . I too had the chorizo sausage and yes, I thought it was way over priced for what it was. The mains are superb. We'll be back.

Wonderful place for dinner
What a wonderful place for dinner. The new owners have given the place a facelift, with muted tones and up to date art work. The atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing. The service was impeccable the staff very attentive without being intrusive. There was a nice pace between each course served, you didn't feel rushed or forgotten.
The food was amazing, we shared a King Prawn entree that was like a meal, my husband had the Bangalow Pork which he said was superb, I had the Rib Eye that was cooked to perfection both meals were served hot and both at the same time. Our Chef was very knowledgeable in helping us choose wine to have with our dinner. For dessert we also shared a Baked Alaska it was interesting how they baked the meringue all the while not melting the ice cream. We finished this off with a great cup of coffee.
This will be our special dining place.
I thank the staff for the wonderful experience.

The service is excellent, and the food superb. Having dined here twice in 8 weeks I would recommend visitors spend a night in Lismore and sample Paupiettes.

Overpriced
Pretty disgusted with the overall price of the food. Had the scallops as a starter, wow spliced scallops, must of been three of them sitting on a chunk of chirizo sausage, looked like something out of a Gordan Ramsay book, shame it didnt deliver! The main was a rib-eye with some sort of deep fried wedges with a horrible mushroom duxelle, once again way overpriced.

Look past the slightly dated decor and you will find a gem of a restaurant. Excellent food with inventive dishes, a relatively short menu but still difficult to choose which sounds the best.
A family dining room atmosphere with friendly service complete a great evening out.
