Best seafood buffet by miles
As seafood buffet connoisseurs we were previously disappointed when we came to Parklands late one evening. However we think our experience was marred by buffet-dregs syndrome, so for a birthday treat we came back for more. And boy what a treat! Three different types of crusteacean (Moreton Bay bugs, spanner crab and sand crab) The spanner crab was superb, we couldn't get enough (well, it was a buffet. We had enough). A chef cooked some delicious prawns in garlic cream linguine for us, however she was willing to cook almost anything in front of you from a dizzying array of ingredients including noodles, asian sauces, prawns, fish etc. There were some hot dishes - kudos for including the far-superior black mussel instead of the usual horrid NZ green-lip but they were unfortunately drowned in sweet chilli sauce. Plenty of lovely fresh salads to choose from and a selection of very fresh sushi and sashimi. Last but not least was a dessert bar that they could very well have got away with charging for seperately, so much choice, and so very very good. Particularly the cointreau jelly shots with some sort of yummy chocolate cream on top. Do try!
