After seven years running the successful original, the owners of Mon Ami Paris Grill have decided to take on a new challenge in the shape of Mon Ami version two. Choosing the seemingly unlucky site of the now defunct Ping (and several others), owners Jon Langevad and Ulla Hiltula are certainly not afraid of taboo, and with their winning formula of Parisian chic and a menu focusing on all things duck, it's not hard to see why they are confident.
The slightly larger Paris Grill has a much more casual feel than the original - think dark tones, large canvas prints and swathes of deep red - but the menu closely mirrors that of the Fitzroy original. Couple this with the stunning outdoor area just made for wine-sipping and yacht-watching, and you'll start to see why the new Paris Grill is a great addition to the Port Melbourne repertoire.
