With its striking red and white walls and ornate Thai artworks, Papaya Thai Eatery comes across as a neat, calm and modern dining spot. It may seem a bit isolated on Missenden Road, but it's a short walk to and from the university, the hospital and Newtown.
Once you're at Papaya, the menu presents a plethora of classic Thai dishes including tom yum soup, Penang curry and pad thai, alongside specials and lesser-known delicacies like the barbecued pork neck with salad and spicy fish sauce and the tamarind sauce king prawns. Desserts like black sticky rice pudding and Thai banana pudding complete the Papaya picture.
