The new venture of acclaimed chef Neale White, formerly of Pure South at Southbank and Harvest Home at Avenel, Papa Goose aims to provide Melburnians with a casual, not-too-steep fine dining option in this lively corner of the city - with a bar attached, of course. Papa Goose sprawls over two levels on the corner of Flinders Lane and Duckboard Place, with the restaurant on the ground floor and the bar, Loose Goose, on the first floor along with two private dining rooms. Modern, airy and light, the atmosphere is approachable and friendly with warm service and relaxed approach to serious food. The menu showcases White's considerable skills and experience, with a short, confident menu composed of such mod-Oz dishes as the spiced venison with chestnut, parsnip, pomegranate, parsley, red cabbage and raisins and the potato gnocchi with Jerusalem artichokes, mushrooms, porcini dust and truffle oil.

Absolutely beautiful food and great service!
We went here for dinner on a Friday night and really loved the food, it was sooo nice and the atmosphere and service was awesome. Everyone has to try the Eskimo pie, its to die for! We're definitely coming back here!

Can I take your coat?
I usually don't often go to fancy restaurants, but this was to treat me and my partner to some good food, and some fantastic food we got! In between the meals we'd get some extra little dishes from the chef for free and our meals and the dessert (the main picture for the restaurant) tickles your tastebuds! Meal prices are very good, but they make that up with the wine prices.. Stick to water I'd say!

A real find!
Visiting from Perth. We walked past on the way back to our hotel and thought it looked interesting. Read a couple of promising reviews so thought we'd head back for dinner. Absolutely first class in all respects. Very reasonable price for the quality and service provided. You'd be missing out if you came to Melbourne and didn't experience this. We'll be back. Thanks.
