Palomino

A tad ritzy for its locale, Palomino stands out on Northcote's High Street, but locals are lapping up the modern cafe cuisine at bustling kerbside tables and in the relaxed, rustic interior. The kitchen errs toward healthy and alternative; the eggs are free-range and baked rather than fried, soy chai latte is a popular choice of beverage, with spirulina and organic juices not far behind. Breakfasts are the cafe's area of expertise and the signature pancetta-wrapped eggs with baked beans, feta and rocket is an eclectic way to start the day, enjoyed to a soundtrack of jazzy funk music and High Street clamour. For the less adventurous there is a huge variety of tasty cafe cuisine, such as muesli with yoghurt and seasonal fruits, Caprese bruschetta, tuna melts, fruity bagels with cream cheese, and even Coco Pops.

A MUST SEE.....
It's a sunny morning on high street northcote. I'm thirsty and in need of my usual coffee fix. As I stroll past the front door I'm hit with the smells of baked eggs and exciting conversations. I over hear that the place has "changed hands" and with that the quirky young manager/owner emily approaches me and says... and how would you like your coffee? how did she know? I introduced myself and she showed me through to the lovely little courtyard out back. The garden is beautiful, and I'm inlove with the mixed matched furniture. It's become my weekend morning glory and one that I'm happy to share with you all. Enjoy x

Don't be fooled
I popped into Palomino for a quick coffee and quick light breakfast while wandering along High Street. Quick it was not and light, well the mood of the staff was far from light. I ordered a croissant and alas 40 mins later I still had not received it. In the meantime my latte was delivered cold, although I was grateful to be sipping on something. While I was sitting there waiting (I of course had loads of time to observe) I noticed so many blunders.
