A new 'must go-to' restaurant!
Palais 85 has only been open a month and talking to the staff, the main feedback they get is that people think it is an Indian restaurant - probably because of the decor and staff, but Indian it is not! One of the first things I noticed when walking into the restaurant was the decor and the view of the city - just incredible.
Great wine list, mainly Australian, at a good range of prices. My friend and I started with oysters kilpatrick and two 'shooters' of white rum & kaffir lime daiquiri. Sadly the shooters didn't come served in actual shooters, but it was a tasty surprise.
For mains I ordered venison, perfectly cooked, presented on a potato cake with a mint yoghurt sauce - wonderful. My friend ordered the duck and it was again perfectly cooked - I was in awe.
Impeccable service from the staff, very attentive and knowledgeable. All in all, a brilliant night out and I will return soon!
